How to clean a whiteboard and stop ghosting
Ghosting is the faint shadow old writing leaves behind. It happens when ink sits on the board too long or the surface is porous.
Daily
- Wipe the board at the end of each day with a dry microfibre duster.
- Use good-quality dry-erase markers only.
Weekly
- Wipe with a damp cloth and a few drops of whiteboard cleaner or isopropyl alcohol.
- Dry immediately with a clean cloth.
Never
- Use permanent markers (if it happens, write over it with a dry-erase marker and wipe).
- Use abrasive powders or scrubbers.
Tired of ghosting for good? Ceramic steel and glass boards are virtually ghost-proof.
